Mapping of human displacement by Boko Haram in Nigeria from 2009 to 2021

Insurgencies by Boko Haram, a terrorist group operating in the north-west African states, have negatively impacted sense of national security Nigeria. The activities sect assumed political dimensions that they evaded all possible technical and military solutions been implemented. humanitarian crisis caused incessant attacks Haram sects has led to growth population internally displaced persons associated camps accommodating them. This research examined how relate persons, as well challenges faced latter from 2009 2021. data used comprise Armed Conflict Location Event Data Database (ACLED), National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), geospatial Diva-GIS. method was applied for this purpose incorporated use GIS techniques mapping 2021: Microsoft Excel purposes refinement analysis; while ArcGIS hotspot directional analyses particular context.. findings study show Borno state experiences 77% frequency insurgency attacks, followed Yobe with 11%. Over years under study, 2015 is year recording highest number fatalities Nigeria, Adamawa spite it being least states susceptible terrorism. Borno, most terrorized hosts largest IDP but these are relatively limited.
